Truly a dwarf form of Columnar Hornbeam that remains dwarf and compact. The dark green foliage of summer turns golden yellow in the fall. 

An attractive, densely branched, columnar tree when young, aging into a stately, broad cone shape with handsome, fluted, gray bark. Distinctive, dark green foliage turns yellow-orange in fall. 

Carpinus caroliniana, commonly called American hornbeam, is a slow-growing, deciduous, small to medium-sized understory tree with an attractive globular form. The smooth, gray trunk and larger branches of a mature tree exhibit a distinctive muscle-like fluting that has given rise to another common name of musclewood for this tree. Flowers appear in spring in separate male and female catkins, with the female catkins giving way to distinctive clusters of winged nutlets.

Small purplish-pink flowers in spring cover this tree followed by heart-shaped leaves. Also comes in a clump form.

Rosy lavender-pink flowers completely cover bare, slightly contorted, weeping branches in early spring. In early spring, dark pink clusters of flowers cover bare branches. Heart-shaped, red leaves turn to orange, yellow, and green as it ages. The attractive foliage colors are persistent from spring through fall. 

Cercis canadensis, commonly called eastern redbud, is a deciduous, often multi-trunked understory tree with a rounded crown that typically matures to 20-30’ tall with a slightly larger spread. It is particularly noted for its stunning pea-like rose-purple flowers which bloom profusely on bare branches in early spring (March-April) before the foliage emerges. This tree is native to eastern and central North America from Connecticut to New York to southern Ontario and the Great Lakes south to Western Texas and Florida. It is found in open woodlands, thickets, woodland margins, limestone glades and along rocky streams and bluffs throughout Missouri (Steyermark). Flowers (to ½” wide) bloom in clusters of 4-10. Flowers are followed by flattened leguminous bean-like dry seedpods (to 2-4” long) that mature to brown in summer. Each pod has 6-12 seeds. Pods may remain on the tree into winter. Alternate, simple, cordate, broadly ovate to nearly orbicular, dull green to blue-green leaves (3-5” across) have a papery texture and are short pointed at the tip. Leaves turn pale yellow to greenish-yellow in fall. The flowers provide an early-season nectar source for hummingbirds. The seeds and flowerbuds are eaten by songbirds. Caterpillars and other insects which feed on redbeds are also a source of food for birds.

This unique compact redbud tree has pendulous branching habit with reddish-purple flowers appearing before the foliage in early spring. Distinctive heart-shaped leaves emerge maroon-red and deepen in color as the season progresses.

The green leaves of 'Cherokee Daybreak' are haloed in cream; flowers are white with a pink blush. In the fall, leaves turn to a red color with the variegated portions turning pink. 

Large, 4-5 inch flowers cover the tree in spring and are followed by bright red berries. The foliage begins a green color; they change to gold, red, and orange towards fall.

Showy clusters of white flowers appear on branches in mid spring among green foliage. The pointed leaves turn red in the fall, producing red berries from early to late fall. 

'Ragin' Red' is true to its name--deep burgundy foliage emergesin early spring, with older leaves greening slightly before turning to a flame red in the fall. Flowers are deep burgundy, maturing to a dark red.
