This gaura cultivar is a compact vase-shaped perennial with wiry, arching red stems, pink flower buds and snow white flowers which appear in long, wand-like panicles that dance in the wind.

Tight clusters of bottle-shaped flowers grow a deep-blue color; the blooms are unique in that they never open. Flower clusters are at the tops of stems or in the upper leaf axils from late summer to early autumn. 

Striking purple flowers have dark purple veins; flowers bloom from late spring to early frost. The mounding shape and resistance to disease makes this plant suitable as a ground cover in containers, borders, or plantings. 

A hardy Geranium, Bloody Cranesbill is one of the most popular of them all, blooming for months throughout the summer with little care. In autumn the leaves turn bright red, adding vibrancy to the fall garden.

Geranium sanguineum striatum is a low grower whose pink flowers abound from late May through June, with rebloom continuing until early August. A superb edging or rock garden plant in average to dry soils.

An ideal option for shaded or dry areas; Appalachian sedge flourishes in partial sun but also does extremely well in full shade. With fine blades that grow 12-18 inches long, this sedge has a weeping appearance. 

'Everillo' is a clump-forming sedge with narrow, lime-green leaves that turn a golden yellow as the season progresses. This evergreen sedge is low-maintenance and deer tolerant.

Purple Love Grass is a perennial, warm season grass that grows actively during the summer when soil temperatures are warm. It reaches heights of 1-2 feet even in the driest, poorest of soils. It thrives in full sun and sandy sites - even roadsides that receive winter road salt. Purple Love Grass can also grow under Black Walnut trees where other plants fail.

Juncus effuses, commonly known as soft rush, common rush, bog rush or mat rush, is a grasslike-like, rhizomatous, wetland perennial that features smooth, upright, cylindrical, unjointed, spire-like green stems (leaves are absent) which grow in spreading basal clumps to 20-40” tall. It is one of the true rushes. It has a nearly cosmopolitan distribution, being found in many places around the world, but primarily in cool-temperate regions, particularly ones having wet soils. It is often found growing in ditches, bogs, swamps, marshes, wet pastures, and along the margins of lakes and rivers.

Plants form a dense mound of beautiful chartreuse-yellow foliage in spring, bearing short spikes of green flowers in early summer. A superb companion to spring flowering bulbs of all kinds, also intermingling well with Hostas or ferns.

'Purpurascens', commonly called flame grass, is noted for its superior orange-red fall color. It is a compact, upright, warm season, clump-forming ornamental grass which typically grows to 3-4' (infrequently to 5') tall. Features medium green blades (1/2" wide) with a reddish tinge which gradually develop further reddish hues as summer progresses, eventually turning a brilliant orange-red in fall. Foliage gradually darkens to an attractive burgundy by winter. Tiny reddish-tinged flowers appear in tassel-like inflorescences above the foliage in late summer, gradually turning into creamy white plumes by fall as the seeds mature. Burgundy foliage and creamy white seed plumes persist well into winter providing good winter interest.

Dwarf Prairie Dropseed’s shorter stature lends itself to foreground plantings, rock gardens, and borders. It is beautiful planted in masses or meadows.

It forms a uniform, very densely branched, rounded clump of grey-green foliage that becomes completely covered in flowers from late spring through midsummer.  The white flowers are small, semi-double, and slightly fragrant.
